In Huntington, West Virginia, a startling incident unfolded as a man allegedly stole an ambulance while medics were responding to a call at a recovery home. Anthony Bell, 37, was arrested and booked into Western Regional Jailon April 23rd morning following the incident.

The episode occurred on Monday morning when Bell was captured on camera taking the ambulance, according to Cabell County EMS. Huntington Police Department reported that Bell was wanted for felony stolen auto along with several misdemeanor offenses.

The entire incident was captured on a dash camera, revealing the audacious act. The ambulance was later found abandoned near the intersection of Third Street and Division Street West. It had rolled backward into a retaining wall, causing damage.

Samuel McGuffin, a resident in the area, described the surreal scene, noting the impact of the ambulance hitting the retaining wall shook his entire home. McGuffin expressed disbelief, stating, "There’s an ambulance, lights on ... there’s supposed to be people who save you, and there’s nobody inside. It’s just empty."

Cabell County EMS Director Gordon Merry expressed frustration, highlighting the irony of the situation as the recovery home was assisting individuals with addiction problems. This marks the third instance of an ambulance being stolen within the county. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
