This is the amusing moment a puppy played with its owner to earn a sausage treat.

Ms Wang came up with a clever idea to bond with her energetic golden retriever pup by creating a game alike of the 'Whack-A-Mole' game using a paper box and a sausage in Suqian, Jiangsu, China, on January 20.

Footage shows the pooch eagerly jumping onto the box with multiple holes, trying to catch the sausage as it appears.

After four rounds of the treat popping up from the hole and attempts of snatching it, the canine became excited and eventually tore apart the box with its mouth and paws.

Determined to reach the meat, the puppy chewed up the carton.

The owner eventually gave the treat to her persistent pet.

Ms Wang said: 'Well, I lost the game, and I can't resist his cuteness, so I just gave in.'
