This is the terrifying moment a tornado descended near a home in Hawley, Texas.

Footage shows the huge twister tearing through a field close to resident Brittany Robinson's residence on May 3.

Describing the harrowing experience, Robinson recounted how the tornado lingered on the ground 'for what felt like an eternity', moving southward away from their location.

Despite the imminent danger, Robinson watched the tornado funnel shifting in the skies from her front porch as hailstones battered their property.

The family were heard in the video praying for the tornado to move away.

The National Weather Service confirmed that multiple tornadoes touched down in Texas, injuring at least two people.

'Golf ball-sized' hail also reportedly fell, damaging homes.
