Paris, France - May 4, 2024

Two citizens participating in the Food Response campaign made a bold statement by projecting orange powder into the renowned Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.

Chanting fervently, the activists expressed their discontent, declaring, "The Hall of Mirrors represents the indecency of a minority which monopolizes power and money, while the people break the slab. 350 years after its construction, the situation has not changed." Their impassioned plea called for the establishment of Social Security for Sustainable Food, advocating for a monthly vital food card worth 150 euro for all citizens to purchase democratically approved products.

Riposte Alimentaire, the group behind the demonstration, aims to shed light on the widening gap between the privileged few and the majority struggling to make ends meet. They condemn the Agricultural Orientation Law, slated for debate in the National Assembly from May 14, for favoring wealthy farmers and neglecting crucial environmental measures.
