An amusement swing ride suddenly halted in the mid-air, leaving tourists hanging upside down for over two minutes in southern China.

Terrifying video filmed in Chongqing on May 4, shows a Giant Swing ride being suspended at its highest point with several tourists dangling in mid-air.

Although the ride ceased its swinging motion, the top part of the swing continued to rotate incessantly, prompting continuous screams from the scene.

Onlookers expressed their astonishment, stating, "It's definitely a malfunction; they've been hanging up there for two minutes!"

On May 5th, officials from Meixin Red Wine Town responded, stating that following the incident, staff promptly implemented emergency measures.

The equipment resumed normal operation approximately two minutes later, safely returning the tourists to the ground without any injuries. They attributed the incident to the swing reaching a balanced state upon reaching its peak.

A spokesperson mentioned, "This was an isolated incident and not a fault with the equipment itself." Additionally, they informed that the Giant Swing ride is currently suspended while thorough checks are conducted on all equipment within the scenic area.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
