Park attendant rescues duck from pelican's grip in zoo
On May 4th, within the Green Rabbit Animal and Plant Theme Park in Xi'an, northern China, an incident unfolded as a pelican attempted to swallow a duck whole. Prompt intervention by a park employee prevented this, prying open the pelican's beak and rescuing the duck before safely removing the pelican from the scene.
Staff at the Xi'an Green Rabbit Animal and Plant Theme Park explained that the animals in the park roam freely, with ducks and pelicans both moving about. Following the incident, the pelican involved in the attempted ingestion of the duck has been isolated and confined to prevent it from roaming freely within the park.
