This is the dramatic moment a Boeing 767 cargo plane scraped along the runway due to a failure of its nosegear while landing this morning.

The FedEx jet had taken off from the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France, before reporting the technical issue to aircraft control at the Istanbul Airport in Turkey where it was scheduled to land.

Pilots in charge of flight FX6238 reportedly performed a low-pass for an inspection before making the landing.

CCTV shows sparks flying from the metal before firemen doused the vehicle with hoses when it came to a stop. There were no injuries reported but the plane has been taken out of service while the damage to the fuselage is assessed.

An airport spokesman said the runway was closed while repairs were made to the surface. The cause of the malfunction is now being investigated.
