Young slackline athlete mesmerises with aerial ballet in China
A slackline athlete, Ou Guoping, staged a thrilling aerial ballet at the height of 170 metres in northern China.
The impressive video was filmed in the city of Yuncheng in Shanxi Province on May 1.
Ms. Li, a tourist, recalled that the wind was strong at the time, causing the slackline to sway continuously, making the audience hold their breath. However, the young man's mental toughness and balance skills were exceptional, and he successfully reached the finish line after a challenging journey.
Dubbed as "art on the ropes," slackline sports are said to embody the concept of "one rope, one world." Athletes on the slackline course, akin to "rope fairies," immerse themselves in their own miniature world, showcasing their prowess through various high-difficulty manoeuvres such as flips, spins, and dashes, competing to outdo each other in feats of wonder.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
