USA: Stolen Lamborghini's Terrifying Flight Ends in Tragic Crash
Los Angeles, CA, USA - May 7, 2024
The LAPD has released chilling footage capturing the dramatic sequence of events surrounding a stolen Lamborghini Huracan as it fled from officers before disintegrating in a catastrophic crash.
On April 6, 2024, at approximately 4:58 a.m., West Valley Division Patrol officers encountered the stolen vehicle while traveling along the 18500 block of Sherman Way. Approaching the intersection of Sherman Way and Reseda Boulevard, officers spotted the gray 2019 Lamborghini, with its driver seemingly asleep at a red traffic light.
Upon activation of their emergency lights and siren, officers initiated a traffic stop. However, the situation took a dangerous turn when the driver, later identified as 51-year-old Elliott Dugan, refused to comply, accelerating away from the scene at a breakneck pace.
In a harrowing pursuit captured on video, Dugan lost control of the Lamborghini mere seconds after fleeing, careening into the center median and colliding with multiple trees. The impact was so severe that Dugan was ejected from the vehicle, tragically resulting in his demise.
The force of the collision was such that the Lamborghini was torn into two main sections, scattering debris across Sherman Way and causing damage to parked vehicles in the vicinity.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics swiftly responded to the scene but, tragically, pronounced Dugan deceased upon arrival.
