STORYLINE:
An exhibition themed on European "Chinese style" design is being held at Hong Kong's K11 Musea shopping mall.
"Boundless Reverie: Chinese Savoir-Faire and Contemporary Art" explores how traditional Chinese crafts became fashionable in Europe and inspired the world.
Breaking through the established form of traditional art tours, the exhibition blends the traditional Chinese "lacquer gilding" craft with modern digital technology and spatial aesthetics.
With light, sound effects, and interactive installations, the exhibition brings to life transoceanic trade between China and Europe during the Age of Discovery. The exhibition pays tribute to the golden era of cultural exchange between China and Europe.
Attendees can appreciate close-ups of the gold-painted antiques and historic treasures of Chinese art, as well as the creations of 13 emerging contemporary artists who look to this shared global heritage.
The exhibition runs until May 19.
