Qiryat Shemona, Israel - May 8, 2024

The Israeli army has identified at least 40 rockets fired from Lebanon in the direction of northern Lebanon, in one of the most numerous attacks since the beginning of hostilities with Shi'ite Hezbollah militias in October last year. These strikes have been identified as being in the direction of the Etzba HaGalil region and so far no casualties or injuries have been reported in these attacks. Israeli forces have indicated that the air defence shield in the north of the country has managed to shoot down an unknown number of these rockets and it is not yet known how many have ended up hitting Israeli soil. The army had earlier reported the launching of another twenty Hezbollah rockets in the direction of Kiryat Shmona, also in northern Israel, where three people were reported wounded.
