A woman narrowly avoided being struck by lightning while filming the rain in southern China.

Shocking video filmed in the city of Xinyi in Guangdong Province on May 8 shows a terrified woman running into a mobile phone shop.

According to the woman, who is the shop owner, she was barefoot, cleaning up accumulated water at the store entrance and using her phone to record the heavy rain when suddenly there was a loud bang.

She captured the moment lightning struck and was frightened, quickly running back into the store. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
