Past midnight of May 9, 2024, residents of West Cameron Township and surrounding areas were jolted awake by the sound of sirens as emergency responders rushed to Gottshalls Lane to battle a raging inferno. With no hydrants in the vicinity, a tanker task force was swiftly mobilized to combat the blaze.

Arriving on the scene, firefighters were met with a fully engulfed structure that collapsed shortly after their arrival, posing a grave threat to neighboring properties. The intense heat ignited a nearby house, prompting a relentless effort to prevent further devastation.

Despite the challenging conditions, the heroic efforts of the firefighting crews brought the inferno under control in approximately an hour and a half. There is no word on injuries or the cause of the fire.

5/9/2024 - West Cameron inferno totals structure and damages another.
Just before midnight West Cameron Township and surrounding areas were alerted to a working fire on Gottshalls lane.
Tanker task force was quickly activated due to no hydrants in the area.
Crew arrived to a fully involved structure which collapsed not long after units arrived.
The fire was hot enough to begin to catch the neighboring house on fire.
Fire was brought under control in roughly 1 hour 30 minutes with crews working on the exposure building and soaking down what was left of the original house.
