A daring rescue mission unfolded at the Tergasul terminal in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on May 6, 2024. Engineers were radioed with a distress call reporting a dog trapped in cables on the port side of the vessel.

Upon receiving authorization from the Captain, a courageous crew member wasted no time to spring into action. Equipped with pallets and cylinders, preparations for the rescue maneuver began swiftly. With the crew's coordinated efforts, the rescuer descended into the water and swam toward the stranded canine.

Despite the dog's injuries from the barbed wire, the rescuer fearlessly pulled the animal to safety and swam back to the boat. With the assistance of sailors, oilers, engineers, and the second pilot, the dog was hoisted on board and provided with much-needed nourishment.
