A motorcycle rider received a dose of instant karma when they tried to dodge a toll barrier but ended up being clotheslined.

Female rider Chen, 29, tried to evade paying the parking ticket fee by accelerating after the motorist in front of her paid, hoping she could get through the gate in New Taipei City, Taiwan, on May 6.

However, the mechanical pole descended before she could make an escape and she was struck in the face and knocked to the ground.

This prompted the staff members to rush towards her to check her condition. They called an ambulance and she was helped to the hospital.

Police officers did not reprimand the biker as the incident did not happen on the road but in the private car park.

The officials contacted Chen and the car park manager to state their rights and said that they could report the case to the station in accordance with the regulations.

However, it was settled privately with Chen admitting she had learned her lesson.
