Four aviation bombs dating back to World War II were unearthed in the Kaliningrad region of Russia.

The first bomb, weighing 100 kilogrammes, was found in Kaliningrad during excavation work for utility lines on May 3. Authorities cordoned off the area.

In the village of Sosnovka, three additional aviation bombs, each weighing 50 kilogrammes, were uncovered by property owners on their land.

Efforts to neutralise the threat were promptly initiated, with specialists from the Neva Rescue Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched to the scene.

The hazardous objects were safely removed and subsequently destroyed by the expert team.
