Food protesters targeted paintings in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Footage shows the demonstrators initially posting as museum-goers quickly sticking a poster on the wall beside the 'Liberty Leading the People' painting by Eugene Delacroix painting as a victory of the French Resistance was being commemorated on May 8.

The pair shouted, 'Resistance is vital,' in a tableau depicting the 'Three Glorious Days' revolution in 1830.

They said: 'Resistance is vital. We demand social security for sustainable food. Throughout history, the people have fought for their rights. Today, criminal elites thrive at our expense. Uniting and resisting them is vital. Let us engage in civil resistance! Let us not allow a privileged minority to dictate our future.'

The group is campaigning for cheaper and healthier food to be available to the masses.
