STORYLINE:

Myanmar aims to export 350,000 tons of rubber in the 2024-25 fiscal year, which started in April, according to a statement on Monday by an official from the Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association.

The majority of rubber exports from Myanmar are destined for China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and India, the official told Xinhua.

Mon State is the region of Myanmar with the most rubber trees. It is followed by Tanintharyi Region, Kayin State, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Shan State, Kachin State, Sagaing Region and Rakhine State.

According to the association, international investment will be used to enhance rubber quality and establish manufacturing facilities.

In fiscal year 2023-24, Myanmar exported nearly 200,000 tons of rubber.
