This is the amusing moment a leaf appeared to come alive - walking across a car park like a giant spider.

Xiaobai Jian witnessed the uncanny phenomenon of the samara — the dried winged fruit of the Golden trumpet tree — moving on its own along the ground in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on May 5.

Footage shows the brown withered fruit pod subtly fluttering due to the wind's movement. It moved towards a gap between the two vehicles as the breeze blew in that direction.

Xiaobai: 'I was confused as I thought It was alive at first, but when I took a closer look, it was just a dried leaf. It was like an alien creature moving on its own.'

Matured and dried fruit pods of the Golden Trumpet Tree fall to the ground in an upright position. These pods can rotate and float depending on the wind.
