A glorious Aurora danced above the skies of Kendal in Cumbria, England on Friday evening giving off greens, pinks and red colour.

Hundreds gathered on Scout Scar, a cliff face that overlooks the town and Morecambe Bay in the North West of England on 10 May as the Northern Lights became strong enough to view with the naked eye.

At one point intense reds were seen with people gasping in glee.

Directly above the crowd the 'Pheonix' was visible as the phenomenom put on one of the greatest shows the North of England had ever seen.

A view point, locally known as the 'Mushroom' was surrounded by onlookers as the lightshow danced above their heads.
