STORYLINE:
The Egyptian Armed Forces announced on Saturday that Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have jointly delivered tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
A statement issued by the Egyptian military said that the move came "in continuation of the strenuous efforts made by Egypt in support of the brotherly Palestinian people, and in cooperation with all parties and international forces to defuse the current crisis and reach a comprehensive truce inside the Gaza Strip to end the extremely difficult humanitarian tragedy facing the Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip."
According to the statement, the action is part of Egypt's efforts to engage the international community in providing sustained and sufficient relief aid to Gaza as the country is working to halt the conflict and prevent its further spread in the region.
