A mouse family scurried around a home to find food in a bizarre train.

Footage shows the mother rodent leading the way for her four offspring, with each of the younger rodents biting the tail of those in front of them in Binjai City, Indonesia, on January 16.

The tiny animals stayed close to the wall until a housewife found them and scared them off back to their hole.

Resident Indah Pertiwi said: 'I was preparing school supplies when I saw them exploring around the house. I could not hurt them, so I just drove them away.'

However, a few moments later, she found the bizarre train again in the living room, but they quickly hid under furniture when they heard a sound.

Indah led them to the back of the house and exited through the door as they searched for a pathway to the bedroom.

Newborns spend their first week or two in a safe, secluded nest hidden away from predators, usually made of soft materials like feathers and leaves. The mother mouse stays close by, providing warmth, milk, and essential cleaning.
