In a daring rescue operation, the Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew executed a successful medevac of a 62-year-old man from a research vessel positioned approximately 165 miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana.

Responding to the distress call on May 9, 2024, the aircrew wasted no time in reaching the scene. Upon arrival, they swiftly hoisted the man aboard the helicopter, displaying exceptional skill and precision in the operation. Following the rescue, the man was promptly transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where awaiting emergency medical services personnel were ready to provide urgent care.
