Traffic enforcer fakes being hit to halt escaping car in China
A traffic enforcer faked being hit to halt an escaping car in southwestern China.
The dashcam footage was filmed in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province on May 10.
A vehicle rushed out of five uniformed law enforcement officers from the side of a road. As the vehicle slowed down, one law enforcement officer directly threw himself onto the front hood of the car, then flipped over.
At this moment, the video clearly captures cries of "Ah... Ah... It really hurts..." and the law enforcement officer's uniform clearly displaying the words "Traffic Law Enforcement".
Upon investigation, the vehicle involved was an illegal operation car. When the law enforcement officers informed that they would temporarily confiscate the vehicle involved, the driver involved, Zhang, refused to sign.
Zhang's husband, Li, repeatedly verbally threatened and intimidated the law enforcement officers, attempting to shield the involved vehicle and forcefully leave. In order to prevent the illegal vehicle from escaping, the law enforcement officers took inappropriate actions under emergency circumstances.
Currently, a joint investigation team in Gejiu City has filed a case against Zhang for suspected illegal operation. At the same time, the law enforcement officers involved in the video have been suspended from their duties.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
