Rare video captures wild giant panda mother-cub moments in China's nature reserve
Wild giant pandas with their cubs were captured by infrared cameras set up in the wild during the monitoring of the giant pandas and their habitat at a national nature reserve in China.
The videos, taken at various locations within the Changqing National Nature Reserve in Yang County, Shaanxi Province, showcase heartwarming moments of mother pandas and their cubs.
The first clip was recorded on March 21 at an altitude of about 2000 metres. In the frame, a robust giant panda mother strolls confidently ahead while her adorable cub, small and clumsy in its movements, follows closely behind, exuding an endearing charm. Several minutes later, the mother and cub reappear at another point along the same stream.
Another clip, dated April 8, captured another mother-cub duo at an altitude of approximately 1500 metres. In this footage, the panda cub appears noticeably smaller, its unsteady gait resembling that of a wobbling black sesame dumpling rolling on the ground, prompting viewers to exclaim in adoration.
The Changqing National Nature Reserve, situated within the boundaries of Yang County in the southern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, serves as a "forest and wildlife" type natural reserve primarily dedicated to the conservation of giant pandas and their habitats.
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of conservation efforts and the ongoing improvement of the ecological environment, sightings of wild giant panda mothers with their cubs, captured in the same frame, have become increasingly frequent, indicating a steady growth in the population size of this cherished species.
