A couple's gender reveal surprise was put at the bottom of the cake.

Romalyn Lagos, 32, who was 23-weeks pregnant with husband Topher, 33, asked their sister to order a baker for their party in Batangas, the Philippines on May 4.

However, the soon-to-be parents were baffled when they couldn't find the blue or pink pigments when scooping the cake with a glass.

Footage shows the couple digging through the desert to find the card with the blue circles at the bottom, which tells them the baby will be a boy.

Romalyn said: 'The cake was supposed to be done with a regular scoop of wine glass to unveil the gender. But my sister, who ordered it, had the baker add an extra thrill.

'We were so puzzled. I just looked at her, and then we had to really dig through the cake to find the gender at the very bottom. Finally, she said the scooping reveal was too common, so they added a twist.'
