Dust storm resulted in hoarding collapse in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident took place in the Police Ground Petrol Pump in Pantnagar area in Ghatkopar East in Mumbai on May 13.

Visuals showed a big hoarding suddenly collapsing due to strong wind. In another visual, an official was seen cutting the iron rod of the hoarding with a grinder to rescue the people trapped inside.

Speaking to Newslions, Pravin Dhat, Assistant Commandant Operations said that total 68 live victims have been rescued and 1 dead body has been retrieved.

At 3 pm today, an abrupt change in weather disrupted traffic as commuters sought shelter from the storm. Strong winds and rain were witnessed in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, Bandra Kurla, and Dharavi regions. As per the latest weather update, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of 50-60 km/hr, are anticipated in isolated areas of Palghar and Thane districts within the next 3-4 hours.

Regarding the strong winds, incidents of fallen trees have been reported in several locations. In Navi Mumbai, a tree collapsed onto a busy road in Airoli Sector 5. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but traffic was disrupted as commuters parked their vehicles safely due to the persistent strong winds.
