This is the dramatic moment a powerful dust storm blew over scaffolding in Mumbai, India, on Monday afternoon.

The strong wind and rain smashed into buildings in Wadala East, injuring at least seven people. They were taken to the Rajawadi Hospital for treatment.

Elsewhere in the city, the wind blew over a billboard onto a petrol station killing 14 people and injuring dozens more who were trapped under the debris.

Forecasters at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai said the downpour was the first of this year's monsoon rainy season.

They issued a 'nowcast warning' predicting a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and moderate to intense spells of rain for Thane, Palghar and Mumbai.
