A 100ft high golf driving range fence was blown over during violent storms that battered Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday afternoon.

Dramatic footage captured the moment the structure was toppled by the gusts whipping through the city. The wind also uprooted trees and damaged dozens of structures.

The filmer said: 'I was practising pitching when the wind suddenly picked up. The wind became very violent in just a few minutes.

'I stopped hitting the balls and watched because I could see that the fence was becoming very unsteady.'

Bosses at the Golf Channel Center said the driving range has now been closed while repairs are carried out to the fence, which prevents wayward balls from flying onto surrounding homes.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
