A scorned husband bit off his love rival's ear after discovering his affair with his wife.

The furious husband Kittisak Chen allegedly found out that neighbour Yasophon Bensiri, 40, had gotten his wife pregnant and asked him to talk in Chonburi province, Thailand on May 11.

But the discussion became heated and turned into a mass brawl involving five men. The husband then bit off Yasophon's right ear and stabbed him with a broken glass bottle at the market.

Footage shows rescue volunteers helping the injured Yasophon out of the back of an ambulance and into a wheelchair to take him to see the medics.

His right ear had already been bandaged by the rescuers but they feared portion of it had already been damaged beyond repair.

Kittisak said: 'I was so angry because I found out that my wife had also been seeing my friend. I attacked him and bit his ear off. I do not regret it and I will go to prison if I have to.

'I haven't spoken to my wife yet. She told me it wasn't her fault, that's why I was so angry.'

A spokesman from Mueang Chon Buri Police Station said: ‘The inquiry officer will summon both sides for questioning before filing charges.

'The confrontation was due to a domestic issue between the two men. There were other people who became involved in the fight, so we will interview them, too.'

All five men were taken to the Aikchol 2 Hospital for treatment while police investigated the incident.
