Shaved ice flavoured with syrup has been selling well amid the recent hot weather in Thailand.

Footage shows the vendor making the refreshing treat with ice on a disposable cup, red syrup, and condensed milk in Chiang Mai province, Thailand on April 28.

Other flavours included green pandan syrup, topped with thick sweetened milk.

The country has been grappling with intense heat in recent weeks, which officials at the Health Ministry claim has killed at least 61 people. Just 37 died in 2023 of heat stroke.

Temperatures in some regions have surpassed 40 degrees Celsius.

The United Nations' World Meteorological Organization warned that the El Nino phenomenon is driving this year's exceptionally warm weather.

They claimed that Asia is warming faster than the global average.
