Mount Ibu, West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Was Reported Again Ejected Volcanic Ash And Erupted On 15 May 2024 At Around 13:54 East Indonesian Time, With The Height Of The Ash Column Observed To Be 5,000 Meters Above The Peak, With A Total Height Of 6,325 M Above Sea Level.

The Ash Column Was Observed To Be Gray In Color With Thick Intensity Leaning Towards The West. This Eruption Was Recorded On A Seismogram With A Maximum Amplitude Of 28 Mm And A Temporary Duration Of ± 4 Minutes 43 Seconds. Booms And Rumbling Were Heard All The Way To The Pga (Peak Ground Acceleration) Post.

The Community Around Mount Ibu And Visitors And Tourists Are Asked Not To Carry Out Activities Within A 3 Kilometer Radius, And The Sectoral Expansion Is 5 Kilometers Towards The Crater Opening In The Northern Part Of The Active Crater Of Mount Ibu.
