Gaza Strip - May 13, 2024

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to intensify their operations in the Gaza Strip, with troops expanding their activity in the area of Jabalya overnight. In a series of targeted operations, IDF troops have been engaged in close-quarters encounters with armed terrorist cells, particularly in the vicinity of eastern Rafah and the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing.

According to IDF reports, several armed terrorist cells were neutralized during confrontations on the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing. Additionally, in eastern Rafah, IDF troops eliminated a number of terrorists and uncovered weapons caches. Air strikes were conducted on identified launch sites and posts from which terrorists fired upon IDF troops.

Overnight, IDF troops intensified their activity in the Jabalya area, conducting targeted operations against additional terror targets. The operations included engaging terrorists who had fired upon IDF troops, dismantling explosives networks, and eliminating threats posed by armed militants.

In Zeitoun, IDF troops continued their operation against terror targets, uncovering tunnel shafts, dismantling launchers, and neutralizing terrorists. Air strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure, including weapons storage facilities and command centers.

Earlier, IAF fighter jets targeted a war room of terrorist organizations in the central Gaza Strip, eliminating five terrorists. Tank fire was also employed to eliminate terrorists moving towards IDF troops in the area.

Throughout the past day, IAF fighter jets and other aircraft carried out strikes on over 100 terror targets across the Gaza Strip. These targets included armed terrorists, booby-trapped structures, and other infrastructure used by terrorist organizations.
