STORYLINE:
A container ship departed from north China's Tianjin Port on Wednesday, marking the opening of a new shipping route between Tianjin and the East Coast of the United States.
The route will be operated by China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (COSCO Shipping), one of the largest shipping enterprises in the world.
COSCO Shipping will deploy nine vessels to the weekly route, each with a capacity of 14,000 standard containers.
The route will shorten delivery time from Tianjin to the U.S. East Coast from 45 days to 38 days.
