Gaza Strip - May 14, 2024

Amid escalating tensions in the region, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their operations targeting terrorist operatives and infrastructure in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza, as well as specific areas of eastern Rafah.

In a concerted effort to combat terrorist threats, IDF troops initiated a targeted operation in the center of the Jabaliya camp, engaging in fierce battles with numerous terrorist cells and successfully neutralizing a significant number of terrorists. Notably, a joint ground and aerial strike resulted in the elimination of the terrorist cell responsible for firing towards the city of Sderot.

Meanwhile, in the southern Gaza Strip, IDF forces continued their operations in specific areas of eastern Rafah, with a focus on eliminating terrorists and dismantling their infrastructure. A targeted operation was also conducted on a Hamas training compound, resulting in close-quarters combat engagements and the discovery of substantial weapons and equipment resembling those used by the IDF.

The IDF's efforts were further bolstered by airstrikes conducted by the Israeli Air Force (IAF), which targeted approximately 80 terror-related sites, including military compounds, weapons storage facilities, missile launchers, and observation posts.

In a strategic shift, the Nahal Brigade concluded its operational activities in the Zeitoun area and began preparations for additional operations in Gaza. Meanwhile, the 2nd Brigade Combat Team continues to operate in the Zeitoun area, underscoring the ongoing commitment of IDF forces to maintaining security and combating terrorism in the region.
