A carjacker allegedly seduced a gay man on a dating app to steal his motorcycle.

The unidentified man reportedly matched with motorcycle owner Wittawat, 33, on the gay dating app Hornet, and arranged a date with him in Pattaya, Thailand, on May 16.

The pair met in the Soi Paniad Chang area of the city. However, before they could drive off to a hotel, the man reportedly asked Wittawat to turn into a secluded alley to meet with his friend.

As Wittawat negotiated the dark and narrow path, another motorcycle rider allegedly drove beside him and pointed a knife to his side, telling him to leave get off his two-wheeler and leave behind.

The man and Wittawat's date then reportedly fled the scene, leaving Wittawat alone in the alley.

Police Captain Sonthaya Khonsap of the Pattaya City Police Station said Wittawat filed a report with the police at 4:06 am.

He said: 'After being notified, we coordinated with investigators to inspect the scene. We are going to search for evidence as we do not fully believe the victim's account yet.

'We have to check security cameras at the scene before summarising the case and taking legal action according to the legal process.'

The investigation was ongoing.
