24-year-old Indian woman Shibila Chemmenkuzhi is studying clinical medicine at Fujian Medical University in east China.
She chose China for its ample internship opportunities, in pursuit of her childhood dream of becoming a doctor.

"Since my childhood, MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) was my passion to cure people, to heal their pain and difficulties. So it gave me happiness. So that's why I chose my profession as MBBS. China has an excellent education system and more expertise, professional doctors."
Fujian Medical University is one of the universities authorized by the Chinese government to offer an undergraduate clinical medicine program taught in English.
Chemmenkuzhi was quite excited about her internship in a hospital.

"I got a lot of interest in surgery. So most of the time I will ask my teachers, can I have an opportunity to do a surgery or to assist. So all the time they are so happy to accept me and to take me there to teach me more and more. So it's really inspirational and motivational for me."
Beyond her aspirations in the medical field, Chemmenkuzhi envisions herself as a bridge of friendship between China and India, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

"Both of the countries are having mutual benefits, and we are growing together. And we're talking about the health and science, these kinds of fields. I'm so happy to be a part of it and studying as an international student in China. So back home, I can also spread a lot of Chinese culture like acupuncture and moxibustion, it's not too much in India. So I can spread this culture in India to make a more and more spreading of the culture among these two countries."
