SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): SVETLANA KAPITSYNA, Russian translator
"I first came to China in the spring of 1989, exactly 35 years ago. My first impression was that this was a beautiful city. At that time, we were just starting our translation work. We had a number of major companies that specialized in projects related to Sino-Russian trade.
I also have worked as a teacher, teaching Russian students Chinese and Chinese students English. I have now lived in Hunchun for almost 12 years. I love this city very much. It has wide streets, very beautiful scenery, and a harmonious, relaxing lifestyle."
Nowadays, booming cross-border tourism brings more Russians to Hunchun for vacation and shopping.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): SVETLANA KAPITSYNA, Russian translator
"There are many newly built parks in Hunchun. There are various newly opened entertainment venues where Russian tourists can enjoy themselves and taste Chinese cuisine. The friendship between China and Russia will continue to grow stronger."
