Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India - May 18, 2024

In a historic first, India has developed and successfully tested the world’s first portable hospital capable of being airdropped, marking a significant milestone in emergency healthcare in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

Visuals showed how swiftly after being airdropped the portable hospital can land on the ground ready to use.

Known as the BHISHM Cube, this mobile hospital was tested by the Indian Air Force in Agra and is designed for rapid deployment in emergency situations and crises, providing a swift and comprehensive medical response.

One of the standout features of the BHISHM Cube is its use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags on all equipment. This technology allows for efficient repacking and quick deployment, minimizing downtime and ensuring that the hospital can be operational within just 12 minutes of landing. The Cube is also designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing solar energy and batteries to ensure continuous operation even in remote or disaster-stricken areas where power supply may be unreliable.
