Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been suffering from constant displacement and the dire living conditions without clean water or medical supplies.

As the ground operations in Gaza continue to cause widespread destruction and devastation, numerous civilians in the enclave are being left to search for safety nonstop by moving to areas described as safe zones by the Israeli forces.

The lack of facilities in these shelters and frequent displacement have made people exhausted and left them in despair.

Many camps for refugees and the internally displaced were erected randomly without proper infrastructure. They don't have a unified sewage system, regular water desalination, or treatment plants.

Some refugee camps have water supply, but the water is not examined by the proper authorities to ensure that they are contamination-free, which makes water safety a challenge for the displaced Palestinians.

"The tents here do not protect us from either the cold or the heat. We lived through winter in extreme cold, and in the summer now we suffer from extreme heat that begins from five, six o'clock in the early morning. The heat is trapped inside the tent. Not to mention the widespread diseases and insect spread due to the destruction of sewage and water networks," said Alaa Abu Roqa, a displaced Palestinian told the China Global Television Network (CGTN).

Many displaced Palestinians have moved for several times from one shelter to another, hoping they could find a secure place for them to stay.

"We fled Gaza and were displaced six times during this period, moving from one area to another. This cost us a lot of money, around 500 to 600 shekels (about 134.97 to 161.96 U.S. dollars) for every time of movement, not to mention the physical and psychological fatigue due to the suffering while moving from one camp to another. We also suffer greatly due to the lack of water and consequently the lack of proper personal hygiene, which has caused us many diseases," said Abu Ahmed, another displaced Palestinian.

Since the recent round of conflict began in Gaza on Oct 7, the forced displacement of almost 2 million Palestinians and mass destruction of civilian property and infrastructure in the occupied territory has put a spotlight on Israel's months-long military campaign in the strip and its long record of displacing Palestinians.
