An ambulance ran a red light and was hit by a car driving laterally in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, May 18, 2017. Several people were thrown from the ambulance. According to the driving recorder at the time of the incident, after the emergency vehicle was hit from the side, it turned around, and the emergency bed in the car and many people were thrown out. According to the scene video taken by witnesses, after the accident, many people were lying on the ground.

According to the Dalian Pulandian district traffic police brigade, when the accident occurred, the emergency vehicle carrying patients, and the siren ran the red light, after being hit by the car patients and others were thrown out of the car.

On May 20, Dalian Public Security Bureau Pulandian Branch made a detailed notification on the matter:at 12:42 PM on May 18, a collision between a 120 ambulance and a small car occurred in Pulandian District of Dalian City, resulting in the death of one staff member of the 120 ambulance, a patient who was sent to the hospital and died, and the driver of the 120 ambulance was injured. After testing, the two drivers were excluded from drunk driving and drug driving suspicion. At present, the injured are being treated in hospital, and their lives are not in danger. The cause of the accident is under further investigation.
