Cow leaps from tracks to narrowly avoid oncoming train
A cow leapt from railroad tracks to narrowly avoid an oncoming train.
Footage shows the farm animal feeding on the grass growing around the railway line while the locomotive approached in Pattani province, Thailand on May 19.
With only mere seconds to spare, the cow jumped away unscathed but the train driver had already hit the brakes.
When they stopped, the driver looked out the window to make sure that the animal was fine.
He said: ‘The cow was blocking the tracks so I stopped the train as fast as I could. We didn't hit it, fortunately.'
The Railway and Highways Act of 1921 Section 85 states that the government can acquire land for railway construction.
This section deals with the power of the Director General of the State Railway of Thailand to acquire land for railway construction. But farmers argued that the expansion of the rail network will lead to the loss of income for families and disruption of farming activities.
