The Chinese Embassy in Tunisia held an essay and short video competition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Hundreds of people from Tunisia's diplomatic, cultural, media, and industrial spheres participated in an award ceremony on Monday.
China's Ambassador to Tunisia Wan Li said that China and Tunisia support each other's choice of development path and use practical actions to show that "we know each other no matter how far we are."
Slim Ghariani, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry's director general of the Department of Asian and Oceanian States, said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries has a solid historical foundation and has yielded fruitful results over the last 60 years.
During the ceremony, teachers from the Confucius Institute at Tunisia's University of Carthage put on a Chinese tea art demonstration.
