A gang of burglars, dressed in women's attire, were caught on CCTV breaking into an apartment in Hyderabad, India.

Known locally as the 'Chudidar Gang', these crossdressing thieves ransacked the Akruthi Arcade Apartment in SR Nagar on May 18, while the owner, K. Venkateshwar Rao, and his family were away.

CCTV footage reveals the burglars wearing long dresses and trousers, referred to as 'chudidar'.

The break-in was discovered the next day by the apartment's maid, who alerted Venkateshwar after finding the gate's lock broken.

The thieves stole four tolas of gold, cash worth around 945 GBP, and a laptop.

SR Nagar police have registered a case and are analyzing the footage to identify the culprits.

The Chudidar Gang has been compared to the infamous Chaddi Gang, known for committing crimes in their underwear.
