Taal Volcano in the Philippines spewed steam on Tueday morning.

Footage shows the thick white plume of volcanic gas rising over the volcano in Batangas province on May 21.

Philippine seismological agency PHIVOLCS said in a May 20 bulletin that the column rose up to 2,400 metres tall, while four volcanic tremors between two to four minutes long were detected.

As of May 16, the volcano has emitted 5,922 tonnes per day of sulfur dioxide.

Taal Volcano last had a short-lived phreatic or steam-driven eruption on May 16.

The Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands inside the Pacific 'Ring of Fire' where the majority of Earth's volcano eruptions and earthquakes happen.
