This is the dramatic moment a speeding car ploughs into a house - before its occupants flee the scene 'like cockroaches'.

Footage captured on CCTV shows the black BMW 320 smashing into the front garden of a house in Bradford, West Yorks, at around 6.15pm yesterday (Mon).

Police say they are now looking for two people who fled the scene of the crash, a spokesman said.

The shocking clip shows the car skid on the road, hit the kerb and collided with one home before rolling over and smashing through garden fence and a canopy next door.

It eventually comes to rest on its side in front of one of the homes before three occupants get out of the car in Park Lane, Little Horton.

A pile of rubble is left in its wake as stunned locals leave their houses to inspect the damage.

One homeowner impacted by the crash - who did not want to be named - said she witnessed the men crawl out of the car "like cockroaches"."

She said: "It was about 6.15pm. They were driving and revving the engine, and the car just hit the property."

"It flipped upside down and hit our house... They must have been driving at least 60mph. There are so many residents here, they could have hit children"

"Luckily nobody was hurt, but they crawled out of the car like little cockroaches. "

"Ultimately, they didn't care. They were walking around for a while. They put their hoods up and walked off. "

"There was no concern for anyone's safety and I'm worried they're not going to suffer any consequences for their actions."

"If it was just a metre off it would have hit into the door."

"We had to evacuate the property. The fire service told us ‘you have to get out in case there's any structural damage'."

Her husband said: "You could hear the revving of the engine from up the road."

"Our family was upstairs, my daughter was playing and my son I were playing a game of FIFA, then I heard what sounded like two cars smashing."

"There was a massive thud and you could feel it shook the building. It was shocking."

"I looked outside and you could see the car sitting on its side in front of our neighbour's home."

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but thankfully nobody was injured in the smash.

The man said the fire service was "quite prompt and very fast" to respond."

He said they turned off all of the gas and electrics and then evacuated their family from the home to assess its safety.

The husband added: "I'm surprised the car stayed together as much as it did."

"It hit two metal frame fences but still kept going before it stopped."

"To cause this amount of damage to these properties is crazy."

"We are grateful we're all ok. It's better the car hit the building."

"We were just lucky that nobody was hurt. We so easily could have been killed."

"When the crash occurred at 6.15pm, that is the prime time for us to put the bin out for the next day."

"Our neighbours could have been sitting out or working in the garden."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 6.16pm yesterday evening to Park Lane to reports a vehicle had crashed into a house."

"It's reported two occupants of the vehicle left the scene before police arrival."

"Enquiries are ongoing to locate them."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire fire and rescue service said: "At 6.22pm on Monday, May 20 we were called to an RTC (road traffic collision) on Park Lane, Little Horton, Bradford."

"A car went into a house. No persons injured. We made the scene safe."

"We sent one appliance (fire engine) from Bradford and one from Odsal."

"The police were informed."

"We left the scene at 7.09pm."
