STORYLINE:
Seven people were killed and nine others injured by the Israeli army in the Palestinian city of Jenin in the northern West Bank on Tuesday morning, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
Israeli forces stormed the city of Jenin and its camp, which led to the outbreak of confrontations concentrated in the vicinity of Jenin camp, Palestinian security sources told Xinhua.
Among the dead were a surgical specialist at Jenin Hospital Aseed Jabareen, teacher Allam Jaradat and a student on his way back home, according to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA.
Since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out in October 2023, the death toll in the West Bank has risen to 513, WAFA noted.
The Israel Defense Forces said it launched a counter-terror operation in the West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday morning.
