At around 7 a.m. on May 23, an explosion occurred in a residential building at 46 Guxiang Street, Xiangfang District, Harbin, northern China, resulting in one death and three injuries.

A citizen's dashcam captured the moment of the explosion, revealing a loud "boom" followed by debris and dust hitting an elevated road, affecting several passing vehicles. The explosion site showed significant damage to the fourth-floor balcony and varying degrees of damage to other nearby balconies, with building debris scattered on the ground.

Initial investigations indicate that the household, consisting of two elderly individuals and a child, likely experienced a gas explosion due to an open gas cylinder igniting. One elderly person was killed, and three others (another elderly individual, the child, and a neighbor) were injured but are not in life-threatening condition. Local emergency services and other relevant departments have responded to the scene, with further investigation and aftermath management underway.

The video was provided with permission from local media.
