Meet the world's smallest stuntman - a 4ft (1.2m) daredevil circus performer who amazes crowds by riding a motorbike inside a 'Globe of Death'.

Jorge Cabrera Matachana, AKA George the Dragon, has been performing death-defying tricks in front of audiences across the UK since joining the circus in April.

He was born with dwarfism in Cuba but refused to let the condition get in the way of becoming what is believed to be the smallest stunt rider in the world.

The 34-year-old experiences G-force similar to that of a fighter pilot by zooming around inside the locked dome in front of stunned spectators.

He joins two other riders inside the mesh sphere as they loop vertically and horizontally at high speeds

- just inches away from each other.

Jorge said he always dreamt of traveling the world whilst growing up in his home country and began his circus career as a clown aged just 17.

He now performs the jaw-dropping stunts after joining Circus Vegas last month, which is currently touring the country until the end of June.

Jorge said: "I was always good at making people laugh, which is why I decided to make it my career by becoming a clown."

"I am always learning new skills and developing my act and three years ago I decided to really push myself and become a stunt rider. "

"No dream is too big no mater your size if you really apply yourself and try hard."

"In the circus ring I feel like a giant."

Anthony Anderson, the shows director, said: "Circus Vegas audiences absolutely love George the Dragon."

"The circus industry is very much an equal opportunity employer and offers jobs and opportunities to all types of performers no mater their size, creed or ethnic background and here at Circus Vegas we are really proud of this." "

The circus claim the Globe of Death is the most 'death-defying trick ever completed' under the big top.

A Circus Vegas spokesperson said: "It's a one-of-a-kind performance, featuring the most talented dare-devil performers from across the globe. "

"George the Dragon has quickly become a crows favourite."

"George is a huge inspiration to all and his determination to become a stunt rider shows it's not your size but the size of your character that truly maters."

Circus Vegas is currently at Birmingham's NEC before it will move on to Huddersfield, Halifax, Harrogate and finally Worcester until June 30.
