Women in ball gowns joined the Santacruzan at the Flores de Mayo festival parade in the Philippines.
Elegantly dressed local ladies displayed their beauty at the annual religio-historical beauty pageant in Balanga, Bataan, Zambales, the Philippines on May 17.
Footage captured by Gerald N. Laxamana shows a line of beauty queens smiling at the crowds, clad in striking ball gowns adorned with beads, with flowery arches as their backdrops.
The pageant is held in honour of Queen Helena, the mother of Constantine the Great. Queen Helena brought back the cross used to crucify Jesus Christ to Rome.
Santacruzan has been the highlight of the Flores de Mayo since the 1800s. This event is held on the last day of the religious festival.
